What means did she use? What were her tactics and strategies?

Eleanor Roosevelt had many strategies for voicing her opinion on current events.  She held news conferences where it was only women reporters that could come.  In fact, Eleanor Roosevelt was the first First Lady to hold press conferences.  She also had her own newspaper column titled "My Day" where she would write about current topics going on.  Eleanor was also a member of the United Nations General Assembly which is where she helped draft the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.   Another strategy of Eleanor Roosevelt was that she was tough, but a very good listener and always had her facts straight before she would go to present anything to the United Nations.  When Eleanor Roosevelt would have meetings in the morning with her staff at the United nations , she would always ask what the chief points people wanted her to make.
Eleanor Roosevelt also had a lot of experience writing and holding press conferences.  During an interview she said she had to be FDR's "eyes, ears, and legs" for him which gave her a lot of practice.  Overall, for getting her opinions heard, Eleanor Roosevelt was a good listener, caring, tough, used her resources such as her newspaper column, and made many speeches.
